😊 I’ve put the concealer on my husband. 😊 😃

Seriously. He has these patches of eczema on his face that occasionally flare up bright red. He had a flare-up the day of his friend’s wedding, and he was the best man, so lots of photos coming up. I dabbed a little of the mint concealer and the light tinted finishing power on the spots and no one could even tell the spots were there.
Wow–that is great! I might not have thought of that.

Mint concealer, you say?:ehh:

**Mint color, not flavor, lol… green tones down redness in the skin.
**
I was gonna say…I can eat this stuff too? hahahaha

Sign me up!

:rotfl:

In all seriousness, I’m going to try the samplers as suggested by shanny. I do a lt of mail order stuff…my mailman must think I’m nuts. :whacky:

My favorite new makeup discovery is simply, a foundation brush. I bought one at Target and it makes such a huge difference! You end up using less foundation, and it blends in so nicely. I just wet the brush a bit, put the foundation on my hand and paint away. It’s actually therapeutic.

As for redness, I have mild rosacea on my cheeks and nose and the best thing I’ve found is this stuff that Eucerin makes. It’s green and you just spread it over the redness, and then apply foundation on top of it. It’s really thick so a little bit goes a long way.

Another thing I’ve learned is that it’s not worth it to spend a lot of money on mascara. Maybelline Great Lash is wonderful, so are some of the Loreal or Revlon mascaras. I just buy whatever is on sale.

Yep. I used to splurge on Clinique mascara, but Maybelline and Cover Girl work just as well for half the price. I also always used to buy Clinique eyeliners but again, I can get good pencils at Target- I like the Rimmel London brand (they have good nail polish, too).

I still only buy lip color from Clinique. They’ve got a few colors that work well with my skin tone and don’t make me look like a kid playing dress-up. And I don’t use a lot of lip color so they last for a long time.

Isn’t it interesting, how some products …the ones at Target, Publix, etc…are really just as good as Clinique, or MAC? I think what is tougher for me to find in cheaper brands, is lipstick/gloss/liner, and eye shadows …oh and blushes.

I really like though Maybelline mascaras, Cover girl concealers (so cheap and I just dab a little under my eyes)…and eye liners. I find that Cover girl makes some great eye liners…and they last a while. But, it is hard for me to find long lasting shadows, and pretty lip glosses. I used to never wear shadows, until I found cream shadows…OH! I love those. :o

My goodness, I disappear at work for a day, and look what happens!! 😃

Well, L’Oreal is made by the same company that makes Lancome. The product lines are subtly similar, though not as much as they were about 20 years ago when I was selling Lancome. It was pretty funny actually - their liquid eye make up remover was IDENTICAL except for the color of the bottle (even the shape and ingredients listing were the same) and the label and name on the front. Same with their wet/dry foundation - identical aside from packaging. Though I don’t think L’Oreal sells that product any more. I’m sure they were getting complaints from Lancome product managers who were trying to sell their line and having customers coming in with stuff from the drug store that was identical - what can you say?

Anyway…

I have found my favorite mascara of all times at Target - Eye Magnifier Exact Definition - Rimmel London

And it’s only $4.99!!! šŸ‘

After selling the expensive stuff for years, I can’t bring myself to pay for it when there are really good non-department store brands out there. EDM is a prime example - why in the world would I pay three or more times as much for something just because it came from a fancy department store, and the less expensive product is BETTER anyway!!! 😃

Actually, the only product that I will shell out $$ is foundation. I use this one from Lancome that is targeted for us 40 somethings and it matches my skin tone perfectly. I tried to do the drug store thing with foundation, but I could never get the color right and then I’d end up spending $30 on a few foundations when I could have just gone to the makeup counter and gotten it right the first time round.

I’ve heard Rimmel is great. We just started seeing it here. I agree with the poster who said that it’s hard to find drugstore eyeshadow that stays on. Have you tried the Loreal High Pigment line? It seems to be heavier.

Oh, Aveda makes some good products…all natural. I bought a white shadow from my hair salon that sells their makeup and hair products…good stuff. šŸ‘

I need to stop shopping. Maybe this was a bad thread for me to start!😃

I like this thread! šŸ™‚

I don’t really wear much makeup anymore. I used to spend SO MUCH $$ on makeup before I got married and I’ve been trying to curb my bad spending habits, so I don’t really wear as much makeup in an effort to not buy a lot.

I do buy some stuff from eyeslipsface.com. Pretty much everything there is only $1. I really like the mineral eyeshadows, there. Sometimes I buy their blush and sometimes lip gloss. I buy this ā€œall over colorā€ stick there, that I use on my cheeks, lips and eyes. I buy my foundation and/or powder separately (cover girl) and my mascara is Cover girl (the orange one! It works great!).

The only thing I ā€œsplurgeā€ on is nail polish. My favorite brand is OPI and it costs $10 a bottle, so I only get it if it’s on sale or if we have a special event to go to and I would like a nail color to match my outfit. It is really great stuff, and it’s cheaper than a manicure. šŸ™‚

Hi truly beloved,

Just a ā€˜FYI’ - each user can view a different number of ā€˜posts’ per page. You might be better off linking by post number, which is clear at the top right of every post, because page ā€˜6’ for ā€˜person X’, could be something different for ā€˜person Y’.

So instead of ā€˜Thread III, page 6’ you could put ā€˜Thread III, post no:115’

And, if you want to be REALLY clever, you could link each one too. Here is an example for lizanne’s brushes:p : post no: 213.

God Bless!
You know, this is the second time someone has mentioned this to me (maybe you mentioned it to me the first time, too :o ) – I really should go through all the photos and do ā€œpostā€ instead of ā€œpage.ā€ Admittedly, I don’t know how to link so that all you have to do is click on a single word… I’ll have to look at the HTML code and try to figure it out.

I have a few e.l.f. brushes. šŸ˜‰ Eyeliner and lip brushes.

I love love love OPI. It’s the only stuff I’ll wear, and the only stuff I give as gifts.

I love OPI too. I get my nails done, and it’s the color of choice from my nail tech. šŸ‘ They have soooo many colors too!

If you would like, PM me, and I can give you a hand on it (I think it was me last time round too :p).

Otherwise, you can heckle Blest to do it 😃

Thanks Magic! Feel free to help out in here where you see fit.
Duly obliging WG :manvspc: 😃

I don’t really wear any makeup except lipstick along with lipgloss or lipbalm. I finally found a company that uses all natural ingredients. So many companies say there products are natural, but when you look at the ingredients it’s quite the opposite. The company is called 100% Pure. They use fruit pigmented cosmetics. It’s awesome. Just FYI, I’ve read reviews that the mascara isn’t any good. Hopefully they will formulate it better. Also, the lipgloss does not have any color. I had to buy the cheek/lip balm for that. It’s in a wide tube so it’s kind of weird at first applying it to your lips. I got used to it though. Here’s the ingredients of my lip color: Fruit Pigments of Plum, Pomegranate, Red Wine, Cranberry, Strawberry, Blackberry and Raspberry, Vitamin C (ascorbyl palmitate), Shea Butter, Grapeseed Oil, Cocoa Butter, Honey Beeswax, Vitamin E (a-tocopherol), Natural Strawberry Flavor.

Thank you for the tip, SeekingHim. I’ll have to check that out.

Ok…I had the name of the makeup wrong to achieve the smoky eyes look…here’s the link…I looked at the eyeshadow this morning…

www.emani.com

It’s Emani Minerals…and all natural…organic materials. I love it. I’m wearing the smoky look today for work…but, it really isn’t ā€˜sexy’ for work…you’ll just have to buy it to see what I mean. I don’t believe ā€˜sexy’ and work go together…nooooo.

Well, for some reason I couldn’t get on to the actual products and see prices…but, I can pretty much bet that they are way more expensive than EverydayMinerals!!! And EDM is also completely natural and has all of the same benefits/features of this one. Seriously, buying from EDM feels like stealing, lol.
