There is one coming to Clermont, FL in October…that is not too far from me at all! :bounce: I’m thinking of going. I don’t think it’s a weekend, like Johnette’s other ones though…but, this is a luncheon, and all day event.

I really want to go–would like feedback from anyone here who might have attended a WOG conference in the past.

Thanks!

i haven’t but i get the WoG magazine Canticle.

if the conference was nearby me, i’d go.

I received an email the other day from her website, advertising a conference in CA…and I sent back a reply, asking if they ever come to Florida. And they replied–so I’m happy to say that I think I’ll finally be going to one of these!🙂

What’s neat, is I met Father Sylvia, the priest who often appears on her show and edits her magazine…last year, when he came to a parish in the Tampa Bay area…I’m wondering if my 12 yr old dd would enjoy the event…do you think?

how wonderful for you they’ll be nearby! and so unexpected!!

i think that unless they offered some topics specific to teens or teens and their mothers, i would leave my 13 y.o daughter home. a grown-up day out at a catholic women’s conference could be like a retreat. esp. if they began or closed with Mass and if there would be priests to hear confessions.

sometime plan to come up to Michigan to the Call to Holiness conference. i’ve been twice with my family (they used to have it at a waterpark hotel and offer excellent conference for teens-- i don’t know if they still do.) it was a great experience.

I agree with you–I might see if some women at work who are Catholic want to go…

Have you been to the Archdiocese of Detroit’s Catholic Women’s conference? I went with a friend a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the day. We opened with benediction, closed with a Mass, had dozens of volunteer priests offering confession all day, great speakers, and there were lunchtime breakout sessions for teens and young single women. I had to miss last year due to school conflicts, but I got the postcard for this year’s conference and would like to go if it’s not the same weekend as our friend’s wedding.

I have been to magnificat breakfasts in PA…they were great, but the singing was a little…I dunno folk loreish or celtic or something…but the lectures were great. Anyone attend those?

It’s October 25th in Warren. Here’s the website. DH is his friend’s best man and the wedding is definitely on an October Saturday so there’s a chance I won’t be going. The wedding might be on the 18th, though. I’ve been so busy and distracted that I haven’t checked yet.

If I can go, I’d be glad to meet you there. 🙂

I wish I could meet you guys there too. 👋 That would be a fun way to meet up with some CAF’ers. 🙂

I haven’t attended a WoG conference, but I have attended all three of the WoG retreats. I strongly recommend them to anyone, and I would bet that the conferences would be just as good. Johnnette and Fr. Ed do an amazing job.

Peace,
Linda

Turns out the wedding is October 4th. I got the days mixed up because we also have a wedding on September 20th. :whacky:

I think I’ll sign up this weekend, and maybe see if my mom or a friend would like to join me. I’d love to meet up with Monica or any other CAFers. Maybe I’ll start a new thread once I’ve signed up for sure.

jen, i’m going. once you signh up, start a thread, OK?

now won’t this be something!
