Sorry, Joy. I’m more a listener than a talker. If you want a really wordy chap you will have to look elsewhere.:yawn:

My husband is two inches shorter than me. I have always had a hard time finding tall guys. It seems that tall guys usually get paired with shorter women (5’ 1"). I was very self conscience about height differences in college. Now it seems like a normal thing to see taller women with shorter men. I have given up my high heels (most of the time) since it really brings out the height difference. It really bugged me to see my Italian shoes gathering dust … Then I had a baby and my feet got bigger and never shrank … I miss my small feet, and can still be found in the closet trying on my beautiful Italian shoes looking like Dressela (Cinderella) trying on the glass slipper. Sigh.Wow! This thread has been busy in it’s first 24 hours. I’m a bit overwhelmed…still have to read through all the posts.
I did ask for the top 10, but sometimes I wonder about the “little things” being important, too. -Height, for example. Seems like 5’10" or taller is ideal for what ladies prefer…maybe that’s false. But I doubt you gals would consider someone shorter than you. just curious… The idea just popped into my head…shallow, I know. But still…
If I had to pick one common denominator in all I’ve heard so far, it would be a man of virtue.
Is that word still part of our vocabulary in 2015? I wonder how many parents actively teach virtue to their sons? Anyways, that’s a digression.

I will say men who are willing to let a women dress him up by selecting his attire is a fu. THing. My husband allowed some of this but had well defined boundaries. Probably a good thing.
I have always had a soft spot for blondes probably because my dad was blonde … But brunettes have always lured me I. And I usually get in trouble with the brunettes.
Eyes, blue are dreamy, and green are mysterious. I’m too old for the tattoo unshaven look thats trending. Since my husband has boundaries against unshaven, I’m always trying to get him to try the scruffy look for a weekend. My womanly powers are defiantly diminishing as our marriage matures.

Oh my goodness!I’ll be honest, short guys never really turned my head. I’m 5’2, and I always had a strong preference for tall men (6’+). I think it’s a primal thing; they make me feel safe and protected. No, it probably isn’t “fair”, but attraction never is. I have no doubt that dating is more difficult for short guys, just like it is for overweight people. But, it’s by no means impossible.
I lucked out, hubby is 6’6. I didn’t specifically look for someone that tall, but I’m certainly not complaining.![]()
OP…just thought I’d add this…most women I know don’t like to be referred to as “gals”Wow! This thread has been busy in it’s first 24 hours. I’m a bit overwhelmed…still have to read through all the posts.

Very good point. I actually noticed you used the same terminology today on another thread, and also referred to all women as “girls.” I’m sure it was innocently meant, but it irks a lot of women to be constantly referred to as if we were children.OP…just thought I’d add this…most women I know don’t like to be referred to as "gals"
And as far as height…I never cared at all. My DH is about 5’ 9", and never was at a loss for female companionship!!! My Mom was about 3 inches taller than my Dad…didn’t stop them from having a long and happy marriage and large family.
And while thou…but basic appearance… Well, maybe I’m just too practical – I just can’t place a lot of value on appearances that could be changed in an instance
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty fades; but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised” (Prov. 31:30). I would assume this applies to men as well
Gertie
People who say both guys and gals or use both girls and boys to describe the same age group usually get away with it. People who use “men” to refer to adult males over a certain age, whether it is 18 or 21 or 25, or males who have married while carrying the word “girl” on and on to apply to all women short of grandmotherhood are in a different boat.Very good point. Tom Cruise is 5’7". Where is a will to get around these things, there is a way.Being too short is the male equivalent of being too heavy for women. Just as men tend to prefer slender women, women tend to prefer tall men. As someone under 6 feet and not that good looking, I have to work harder to get interest from women. Doesn’t matter if they’re Catholic or not, they’re women first in that way. This gets very brutal when it comes to online dating, I had to give it up after a few years of going nowhere. But a good friend near my age is 6-2 and never has a shortage of dates from online dating. I’m not jealous of him, he is still a good friend, it is what it is.
Meh. IMO, it’s the closest thing to a female equivalent of “guys”. “Girls” connotes immaturity, “women” isn’t casual enough to use informally, and “ladies” may not even be applicable. I know some people use “guys” as gender neutral, but a lot of women dislike that usage as well.OP…just thought I’d add this…most women I know don’t like to be referred to as “gals”
I realize that not everyone dislikes this…I was speaking about my own preferences, and those of most of my female circle of friends and family. OP seems to be asking for things that attract or don’t attract women, and “gals” isn’t verbiage I find attractive.Meh. Fair enough. Whelp, I should probably take my leave, I just noticed the “Ladies only”.I realize that not everyone dislikes this…I was speaking about my own preferences, and those of most of my female circle of friends and family. You’re fine, as long as you don’t go on and on about what you find most attractive in a man.Fair enough. Whelp, I should probably take my leave, I just noticed the “Ladies only”.![]()
That’s ok…my circle of women friends/family like men who are comfortable jumping right in on conversations with usFair enough. Whelp, I should probably take my leave, I just noticed the “Ladies only”.![]()
