I guess I listened to her performance with a slant…looking for anything that would reveal political undertones, because I…well, we all…know where she stands.

So the way she said "with Liberty and Justice ‘for all’ " … I heard something in her tone.

all the lyrics of all her songs, I now wondered if she sang them for a particular reason, because I now interpreted them in a way I had never thought of before…and maybe she did too.

Kind of the way Ellen DeGeneres used ‘Finding Dory’ to slam Trump’s immigration ban.
I had never thought of that movie in that light before…who’d have thunk that cute little kids’ movie was about building a wall?

I’m sure it was just me :onpatrol:  🤷
The movie was not about building a wall, Ellen just used it to talk about trump (the movie took years to prepare it)

Gaga was obviously never conservative and she had always preached equality for all (lgbt). Her songs (born this way) reflected that. It’s really nothing new. Most celebs have been political (basically anti conservative), not just when trump ran for president.

So yeah, celebrities have been political a looong time since they have ‘influence’ on the people. The few that aren’t are always getting attacked. Everything is political now

She is gifted vocally for sure. I like to hear her sing but some of her music is really not my taste in music. I particularly do not like vulgarity but I do hear her on the radio.

I was surprised there wasn’t political overtones so that was a positive. Overall I was not offended by this performance but she generally isn’t my cup of tea 😛

I was relieved that she did not turn it into a political rally. It was good, but not great. Some think it had satanic overtones to it, but it was not nearly as blatantly satanic as either Beyoncé’s or Katy Perry’s.
Satanic? Really! come on…

It was fabulous! I loved it. People were expecting the worst and her “political” message was one that should ring true to all Americans no matter your position.
I enjoy her music. It always amazes me how small she is. It seems such a powerful voice and performance should come from a much bigger body…

I liked the drones and the circus act. The noise and mass epileptic fit that followed her sky-dive were less likable.

I have to say I wasn’t the least bit impressed by the cast of “Alexander Hamilton” singing “America the Beautiful” and having to inject the word “sisterhood”…

I remember seeing her perform another time and finding it super sexualized. I did not find that on Sunday. Yes, “Born This Way” has some interesting lyrics, but really, I found the overall performance entertaining. I loved that she actually sang live while giving a fairly acrobatic dance routine (and it was good).

We weren’t interested in seeing it, so we fast forwarded past halftime. (We paused it to eat and socialize a bit, then skipped to the 2nd half after 30 minutes). I heard about the drones. That’s a cool idea, but none of us cared to see Lady Gaga. I’m wondering how they programmed the drones.

Lady Gaga earned massive praise for her Super Bowl halftime performance. Many speculated the musician would exploit her stage and turn it into a political soapbox like so many other celebs as of late, but Gaga did not. She stuck to entertaining, and it was a magnificent performance. On the heels of the divisive rhetoric celebrities had been throwing out, it was a unifying moment for pop culture.

The nonpolitical performance paid off for Gaga. According to Nielsen Music, the singer sold around 150,000 digital albums and songs in the United States on Sunday. That equated to an increase in sales of 1,000 percent over the previous day. All of the songs Gaga played saw significant increases in digital sales.

Looks like she’s working on it. We are all on a journey. Sometimes we hit potholes and speedbumps but if we keep our eyes on the destination, we may just get there. The scales obscure our view at times.

My husband & I liked the half-time show. My husband had his finger on the remote ready to find another channel for most of the show and we were a bit surprised that 1) She didn’t have a ‘surprise’ guest and 2) kept it fairly clean. I thought it was cute that she said ‘Hi Mom, Hi Dad’.

Luke Bryan is considered local talent, so no surprise on his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner (I’m in the Nashville area). My husband (born in Fall River, MA) was pleased with the outcome of the game.

She has great talent but her dancing and wardrobe are poor taste and lewd.

Looks like Gaga will duet with Metallica for the 2017 Grammys tomorrow night. She has quite an array of musical influences in her past, and heavy metal is one of them. I only hope she stays away from political commentary. It will be to her benefit with a new world tour scheduled this year promoting her latest album “Joanne”.

I’m reminded again why I’ve had such a crush on this woman since the release of “Poker Face”. 😛 She played the metal role well, and is quite the talented entertainer. Too bad James Hetfield’s microphone either malfunctioned or was turned off for the first couple verses. You can see at the end of the video he appears to throw his guitar away and wasn’t happy.

Anyway, even if you’re not a fan of this music, you have to admit it was at least visually entertaining? It was certainly a sharp contrast to the rest of the music played during the night…
