Some people justify indecent exposure by saying that “the body is nothing to be ashamed of.” How would you answer them?

I would just reply, Yes the body isn’t nothing to be ashamed of, but that doesn’t mean you should show it off, you could give people impure thoughts, or they might call you terrible names, and perceive you as a negative image. But I would leave it at that, if you press the issue to much, you just might make the person mad at you, and then dress that way just to spite you. The best thing is to pray for that person and live as an example when your around them. Hope this helps.

I would say that that is true, the body is nothing to be ashamed of! But for what use are they making of their body? Catholics will say that it is a temple of the Holy Spirit.

This reminds me of a time when a man ran into our back yard, someone that I didn’t know. You wouldn’t want a stranger to just pop in the house, or the yard. My brother said that he does not like the front door to be locked, but, we are often in the back of the house, but we apologize. Family should be able to handle seeing one’s siblings or parents’ bodies without offense. When you love a person their naked bodies seem lovely.

Strangers bodies, no. It is simply unattractive. And then, for what reason, as I asked before?

If the young can dress beautifully and show off their figures, in a socially acceptable manner, … I think that there is too much of the no sleeve and neckline look, however … but with sleeves and necklines, I think that that is youth.

I would say neither is the toilet but that doesn’t mean it should be put on display…It is kept private for a reason

When I hear “indecent exposure” I picture the man opening his trenchcoat at the bus stop or a streaker running across the football field.

I gather from your post, however, that are referring to clothing…

Ya, I was refering to clothing. Indecent “exposure” is not the right term, I should have used indecent “dressing” perhaps. For eg. consider the way some of the film actresses dress in public. What if they were to justify that by saying that the body is nothing to be ashamed of?

Let’s put it this way. A diamond is nothing to be ashamed of either. But it’s setting is all important. You can use the right setting for the diamond that will bring out all its beauty and glory or you can place it is a distorted hideous setting which will detract from the beauty of the diamond and will draw attention away from its glory.

Same diamond different setting makes the world of a difference.

So it is with nakedness. It is the setting that is all important and of course the most beautiful setting that enables us to have all the beauty and glory of the human body revealed is the Marriage bed. Some saints have even referred to the Marriage bed as an altar. WOW!!

***I love diamonds:D…and I love this analogy. Excellent post! This is very true indeed. ***
