Language in WYD Solemn Mass

I am just curious if what language will be used by Pope Benedict in the Holy Mass in World Youth Day.

I watch the addresses of Pope in the WYD and sad to say i idn’t understand what he said. what i only understand is when he said *eins, zwei, drei *…

And the only prayer that i really understand in the WYD is when he pray the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be in Latin.

I hope that they will use Latin in High Mass and not german.

Yep, right there on the Altar with the Supreme Pontiff. At that point the language became irrelevant. So I turned off the TV. I have never in my life been so disappointed. I sure had high hopes for B16. Oh well just more of the same I see

I saw part of the closing Mass today and was disappointed - drummers in feather headdresses playing what seemed a very contemporary version of Holy, Holy, Holy - the conductor was practically dancing as he directed the choir and musicians…I wonder if Pope Benedict was aware of what was planned for this Mass, or if he was caught off guard…I’d love to know.

Right now, I’m very disappointed. Although I liked the fact they had Adoration so prominent. I can’t help but think this addition to WYD was Benedict’s idea…

The vast majority of planning for WYD’05 was completed during the pontificate of JPII. B16 has had mininal (name removed by moderator)ut on most of the details (including music for the services, and altar server choices).

I think this will change when (and if) the Holy Father announces the next WYD. I’m sure he will have much more (name removed by moderator)ut from start to finish.

I watched the solemn mass of WYDin TV. I am really sad on what happened.

1. The mass is in german which most people don’t understand.
2. The music though it showed different culture still is something which is very modernised.
3. The altar girls. What the heck are they doin in there.
4. The camera moves really fast and it doesn’t stay in one position for more than 20 sec.

By the way is the Lord’s prayer sung Latin?
