No children involved in first marriage, which was not in a church.

So, the first marriage would have been invalid since it wasn’t in a church, so second one probably won’t be in one either.

What to say? I have a written communication to reply to…

i hate it when someone I like does something like this… 😦

Thanks for any advice!

What is it they expect you to say? Or what is it that you are asking?

It doesn’t sound like anything you say will affect their thinking anyway.

If you have received an invitation to wedding #2, you can attend.

Well, saying convratulations or how wonderful seemed somehow inappropriate, so that’s why I was asking.

This is why I don’t like these situations, because until I returned to the Church, I would have been like everyone else and just taken this as normal. Now I just tend to be confused…

I agree. Very confusing to figure out what you are asking.

What do you say when someone basically asks you to congratulate him or her for (objectively) committing mortal sin?

My suggestion would be to give them a blessing (not on their marriage) that they will grown in faith and be granted God’s peace and love. And I would recommend you not attend their “wedding” or reception. Just my thoughts. God Bless you.
