If someone is annoying you and you sort of quarreled with them by only telling em to stop it and you did not hit them nor did you curse them is it a sin?

Doesn’t sound like a sin, if anything it could be venial if you were angry.

Try to remember that God is your witness, that may help you to keep calm and charitably withstand provocation.
God bless.

This episode in your life has now passed, nothing you can do to change it. Pray that next time you will have the humility and fortitude to suffer in silence and walk away from the situation without anger.

It says in Ephesians 4:26 Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not make room for the devil. so as to keep a good conscience before God and man, why don’t you pray the forgiveness prayer?

As Scripture tells us “be angry and sin not”, that reminds us that emotions like anger are not sins. When we are overcome with emotion we can be more easily tempted to sin.

Telling someone to “shut up” may be immature, and if you are a minor it may be forbidden by your parents (in that case, the sin is disobedience to your parents). Next time say something like “we have come to an impasse, I am leaving the discussion” and walk away.

Based on what you told us, it may not be sin. But please take time to reflect on why you became angry. I suspect since you posted here that there may be something about your reaction to this person that you are not happy with.
I learned a little trick to control my anger, and I was amazed at how it helped me. Remember the acronym START:

Stop - stop what you were about to say or do.

Think - think about the situation, and what you were about to do or say, and any possible repercussions.

Assess - how do you want this situation to resolve itself? What are your options? What would God want me to do? What do you think is the best action?

Reassess - How will this action play out. Is this God’s will?

Talk - proceed with your desired response keeping in mind what God would want you to to.

I hope this helps you as much as it has helped me. During this process, your anger is likely to have cooled off and your response will result in a better outcome. It really doesn’t take long to go through the process once you’ve stopped the emotional response that you may have regretted.
God Bless
