As I understand, at the resurrection our bodies and souls are united and we will receive our gloried bodies. Is this only for those in Heaven/Purgatory? What about those in Hell? Will they receive glorified bodies and then go back to Hell?

They will be bodily resurrected but their bodies will not be glorified. Still, they won’t perish as they do in the current world.

Though I probably need to brush up on this.

Both Scripture and the Catechism (1017) teach everyone will receive their body at death. Even those who go to hell will receive their bodies, but will not receive the beatific vision.

I believe the Church teaches that only the elect , those who are saved, will receive glorified bodies. But all will be resurrected .

Questions321:
Purgatory
In purgatory, the soul remains separated from its body.
Really? I did not know that…
Where is that found out of curiosity that I might read more? I enjoy learning new subjects…

In purgatory, the soul remains separated from its body.

The particular judgment occurs at death after which the soul state is hell, purgatory, or heaven. Then later is the final judgment with resurrection of the dead (where the body and soul are united in the person).

Catechism
997 What is “rising”? In death, the separation of the soul from the body, the human body decays and the soul goes to meet God, while awaiting its reunion with its glorified body. God, in his almighty power, will definitively grant incorruptible life to our bodies by reuniting them with our souls, through the power of Jesus’ Resurrection.

1001 When? Definitively “at the last day,” “at the end of the world.” 557 Indeed, the resurrection of the dead is closely associated with Christ’s Parousia:
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven, with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 558
1022 Each man receives his eternal retribution in his immortal soul at the very moment of his death, in a particular judgment that refers his life to Christ: either entrance into the blessedness of heaven-through a purification 594 or immediately, 595 – or immediate and everlasting damnation. 596
At the evening of life, we shall be judged on our love. 597

At the final judgment, all will receive bodies, but the wicked will experience ‘the second death’ described in the Book of Revelation and will suffer eternal torment which will be magnified by having bodies that experience sensations. This is what St Augustine explains in his book City of God.

I believe the Church teaches that only the elect , those who are saved, will receive glorified bodies. But all will be resurrected .
Yes, it is correct, the Church teaches only the elect saved and only the elect will have Glorified Bodies.

I believe God elected and He saves all of us because only He can save us.

FALLEN/ UNSAVED MAN DOES NOT HAVE THE FREE WILL TO CHOOSE TO BE SAVED

Fallen man cannot redeem himself, (De fide).

John 6:44; No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them.

.
THE WAY GOD DRAWS US TO CHRIST
CCCS 1996-1998; “This call to eternal life is supernatural, coming TOTALLY from God’s decision and surpassing ALL power of human intellect and will.”

John 15:16; You did not chose Me, but I chose you.

.
CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA Predestination of the elect exlains.

ante prævisa merita

“Asserts that God, by an absolute decree and without regard to any future supernatural merits, predestined from all eternity certain men to the glory of heaven, and then, in consequence of this decree, decided to give them all the graces necessary for its accomplishment.”

.
The crucial question is:
God has only a few elect or He elected and predestined to Heaven everyone of us?

.
Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma by Ludwig Ott;

a.
There is a supernatural intervention of God in the faculties of the soul, which precedes the free act of the will, (De fide).

Our cooperation with God’s graces, caused and the product of God’s Supernatural Graces and His Supernatural Intervention in the faculties of our souls.
.
b. Without the special help of God the justified cannot persevere to the end in justification. (De fide.)

No justified/ saved can persevere to the end without God’s special gift of grace, His gift of Final Perseverance, this is an INFALLIBLE protection of the salvation of every receiver. – De fide Dogma. + Infallible teachings of the Trent.

.
Question: So, who is responsible for our salvation?
Answer: God is responsible for our salvation, as ‘ante prævisa merita’ explains it:
His provisions of all the graces necessary for the accomplishment of our salvation.

.
AS FOLLOWS GOD IS DOING A VERY GOOD JOB

CCCS 1996-1998; “This call to eternal life is supernatural, coming TOTALLY from God’s decision and surpassing ALL power of human intellect and will.”
.
301 God does not abandon his creatures to themselves.
He not only gives them being and existence, but also, and at every moment, upholds and sustains them in being, utter dependence enables them to act and brings them to their final end .
Recognizing this with respect to the Creator is a source of wisdom and freedom, of joy and confidence.
.
God bless
