I think this is the verse you are referring to. 1Co 15:8 And last of all, he was seen also by me, as by one born out of due time.(Douay-Rheims). From the Haydock Commentary: “Ver. 8. As by one born out of due time; not born at the ordinary term, meaning after Christ’s ascension. He calls himself so out of humility, abortives being commonly imperfect and less than others. (Witham)”

Yup, that’s the one. It was part of today’s readings at Mass and I wondered what Paul was referring to. Thanks for the info.

He means that he (St. Paul) came to Christ as an apostle after all the other apostles were selected and Christ had ascended.

He means that he (St. Paul) came to Christ as an apostle after all the other apostles were selected and Christ had ascended.
From Adam Clarke’s Commentary: “As of one born out of due time - The apostle considers himself as coming after the time in which Jesus Christ personally conversed with his disciples; and that, therefore, to see him at all, he must see him in this extraordinary way.”

The word phrase is used in literature for premature birth, miscarriage and abortion.

i know a horrible person who:

lived in a man’s house for six months (plus), mistreating him and using him as a free (big) house to be housed in. she goes to an ugly sweater christmas party has a one-night stand with the host. three months later (march), her grandfather dies. so, the man she was living with and his parents arrive at the funeral. she laughs at him in front of her friends like ignorant mean high school girls. shortly after, this man packs all of her belongs (gifts unwrapped even) at the front door to indicate she is out of his house. few weeks later she dates (one date being a two hour long drive to an olive garden) a third man. she gets dumped by her. conveniently she runs into guy #2 (being a small town as it is), and convinces him to marry her. rushes the marriage in a very thoughtless way. the wedding is dark, dreary, rainy and cold. four days after she announces that she wanted a girl’s night out to watch a soft-pornography-like movie (magic mike) to watch in “slo mo”.

i as an online friend, notice all this and try casually to point out her shittiness. she smothers me out of her life to prevent any more truths to come out. she researches how to get pregnant (rather than naturally getting pregnant out of simple love). ends up being pregnant.

is this child born “abnormally” or manipulatively?

just wondering,
o
