Last Sacraments for Divorced & Remarried Catholics

I have good friends who have been married to each other (outside the Church) for about 20 years; both had been married before and divorced.Both ex-spouses are still living. He is now near death and in hospice, but is still aware of what is happening, and would like to receive the Last Sacraments (Confession, Anointing, and Holy Communion). They both had been faithful Catholics attending Sunday Mass regularly, but not receiving Communion. Must he receive an annulment before he can receive these Sacraments?

Please, call the “Emergency Sacraments” number at his parish. His priest will come to the deathbed with the Sacraments.

Please call a priest to go to him. Don’t delay. The priest will take care of everything. A decree of nullity is not required for him to make a good confession and the priest will help him.

No way! Confession is part of the last sacraments & that’s the place for him to bring his mess!!
