Last year's palms

I didn’t bring last year’s palms (which I keep tucked behind a crucifix) to church the Sunday before Ash Wednesday. Now, I’m not sure what to do with them. It would seem awful putting them in the compost!

Please advise.
 
Its my understanding that Blessed items are to be either burned and or buried.

You could keep them and keep adding to your blessed dried palm collection. Honestly, I had no idea that people disposed of them. We still have braided palms from at least 15 years ago.
 
Save them for next year. Or just save them forever. There’s no expiration date.

That is the instruction in the Sunday Bulletin in my parish tomorrow. Our priest is quite conservative; so I trust his judgement on this.
 
At our Parish, the Sacristy will take them any time of the year. We burn them and the previous year’s Holy Oils in the fire before the Vigil.
 
You can bury them in your garden, but really, there’s no reason to, unless they are getting moldy. They usually just dry up like any other dried greenery.

Well, for the past few years I’ve just put the new one back in the box after using it for Mass. rather than end up with a forest of them.

I don’t think the blessing on an old one 'expires; in any way.
