Isn’t it considered not attending Mass if ppl habitually show up somewhere in between the 2 readings? and that said ppl should not be receiving communion?
Here’s the thing about human nature…Thanx for your responses… I certainly take my faith seriously enough to make sure we (my family and I) arrive on time for Mass… however it is said when examining your conscience we are asked Do you purposely arrive at Mass late? which suggests it is a sin if you do. mortal or venial thats not for me to decide for someone else,
Having said that I agree if your late for Mass at all your late period baring a good reason, like u said a flat tire or something.
I did take it upon myself this past week to charitably approach said person at the grocery store, and enlightened the facts about being late and they shouldn’t receive communion.
After Mass on Sunday the whole family verbally ganged up on me, I remained calm and told them I didn’t make the rules. They shouted back with having told the priest which he informed them they were quite safe to receive communion anyway.
As far as I’m concerned the priest should have instructed them properly, and said family will continue to arrive late for Mass guaranteed.
All in all, what I tried to do was educate a fellow parishioners.
Are we not our brothers keeper?![]()
