Elsewhere I’m making a point that society has devolved to the point where we are not saying, “We have no king but Caesar” but “We have no god but Caesar” and I want to put it in Latin. The Vulgate has that passage from John as *non habemus regem nisi Caesarem. *My very poor Latin guess would be that my version would go *non habemus deum nisi Caesarem. *Yes? Close? Way off? Thanks.
