Half of what our choir sings comes from CPDL - For instance, In Monte Oliveti for palm sunday, Ave Verum Corpus for the Solemnity of the Body and blood of Christ.

I’m sitting here crying. OK you don’t want to sing the music of our ancestors. But I think that our protestant brethren at Taize have got it nailed flat. I enjoy singing Taize music. But noooo!!! We have to listen to GIA and OCP. Which music sounds more Catholic?

Each Pentecost we sing this. And other hymns/psalms from Taize. Who sounds more Catholic, GIA or OCP? Instead of accepting the latest sacro-pop from GIA or OCP maybe we ought to be listening to music that sounds Catholic.
 
And I know I am going to be ripped apart but the music from Taize touches my soul. Catholic music. Chant. Instruments from the past (recorders et al). Music that touches my heart

I’m off topic JKirk but I want you to know that we can sing in Latin and we don’t need to be locked into the past. We wouldn’t have such a dichotomy if our local parishes sung this. It retains the flavor of what we were brought up with and Kermit and Miss Piggy would be hard pressed to sing along.

Just wondering. Is there English translation for the ordinaries written in polyphonically similar to renaissance style?
