Latin community in Greensburg

sorry, my virus protection doesn’t show that…of course all sites phish …it’s just that you don’t supply personal info… What I am trying to do is communicate with anyone interested in the TLM so we can meet face to face and plan for a Latin Community in GBG. The Mass will come… will we be ready. ??? I am a member of St. Boniface as well… past 4-5 yrs…👍
 
I’m pretty sure I know who the priest is that isn’t a Benedictine. If it’s who I am thinking of, he is a good and pious man.
 
Universae Ecclesiae!!!We received a reply a while ago from the Ecclesia Dei Commission and were asked (Despite presenting over 500 signatures on a petition) to prove a stable group and a priest who could celebrate. If we could, then they would contact Bishop Brandt. The stable group is the group that attends mass on Fridays celebrated by Fr. Cyprian. Since Fr. M has gone on to studies in Illinois, we have not been able to attend the Latin Mass in Greensburg. We must have a meeting of those interested as soon as we can. Still no reply from Ecclesia Dei to your last letter. Any day,week, month or year now!
 
I’ve been wondering if anybody had heard anything. We got an e-mail about signing a petition several months ago. We were on vacation and it never got sent. We would have been two more names on the petition. 😦

Sneakers, have you ever come down to St. Boniface/Holy Wisdom for the Latin Mass? The chaplain is full time now, so there are daily masses, and low and high mass every Sunday. It’s a great community and the mass is beautiful. I know it’s a drive from Greensburg, but well worth it.

Rob and I have the old petitions. Our problem is communicating with everyone.🤷 That’s why I was trying to get a physical group started so we can plan. When Bishop Brandt put a stop to the Latin Mass at St. V. (except for Friday), our group dispersed. I could not attend on Friday and others worked at that time. I would love to start (though I can’t sing) a schola just to get ready if things should break loose.:cool: Leafletting churches is a good idea…so many in the Diocese are clueless about what has happened since VII (especially the real background).:eek: There is much to do and we are soooooo behind… I’m just sayin…👍

Yes, we’ve been to St Boniface a number of times. Lately, however, it’s been hard to get there. We don’t live in Greensburg. We live in Indiana, Pa. It’s an hour and a half drive for us. My husband and I made it for Christmas Eve Mass last year. I love the Latin Mass at St. Boniface. I wish we were closer. There is also a Latin Mass in Patton, Pa. It’s a bit closer, but we’re both more familiar with St. Boniface, though I’d be willing to go there instead if my husband would.

Please pray for us here in the Greensburg Diocese.

Bishop Brandt has received a letter of inqjuiry from Cardinal Hoyos of the Ecclesia Dei Commission concerning our appeal for the TLM! Pray!

Bidhop Brandt has been notified by the Ecclesia Dei Commission of our petition and has been asked to reply to the Commission! That is the last we heard from the Commission since we sent them our petition and history of negotiating with Bishop Brandt. I restate my last post. We need to get organized as a physical group again so that we are ready if and when we get a response from Bishop Brandt. Any suggestions?
 
St. Josephs’ Chapel has been in Greensburg for some time now! Their Chaplain is not (I understand) incardinated in the Diocese of Greensburg, he is from Ohio. Oweing to Bishop Bosco’s and Bishop Brandt’s reluctance to support the Traditional Mass, I doubt that there has been any communication between the Bishop and the folks who go to the Chapel. After all this time, it is disgusting that we cannot get a meaningful response to our petition. Anglicans are now coming back to the Catholic Church with their ligurgy and we are left in the lurch! That says volumes! Could the Catholic be in schism and we just don’t know it?
 
I heard the wonderful news. Of course it was Bishop Brandt’s own decision. Our petition to Ecclesia Dei had nothing to do with it? Thanks be to God!👍
 
This is great news. Of course, parish priests do not need their bishops permission to say the TLM, but all in all this is fantastic news.

Yeee Haaaa! See ya all at the first Traditional Latin Mass at Holy Family Church in Latrobe. 2:00 pm. On another note…did ya see the article in the Tribune Review? Really…in 1984 Pope John Paul II granted permission for celebration of the Latin Mass if approved by the local bishop.? Talk about not telling the whole story. I wonder who the source of that quote was? Gee…I wonder if there was another Pope who had more to say about that??? And my oh my isn’t that 2:00pm mass convenient?
