In terms of real books, I’ve used Cassells since high school. The most respected one out there is Lewis and Short, by Oxford University Press. I believe there also are ones that focus on ecclesiastical and later Latin.

[post=2538699]Dictionaries[/post] I like.

In addition to those listed there, I like the word morphology tool from Perseus (which gives links to Lewis & Short).

Cassell’s is the dictionary we used in my (Roman Catholic) high school; it works well for me. I still have a copy for my personal use. Many on-line sources exist now, too (see your other responses). Good luck in your endeavors.

I wonder how many online Latin- English dictionaries are even on the internet?

If you are looking for one that deals with Liturgical and Ecclesiastical Latin, Diamonds is one of the best. It has I think been reprinted by pcp books. www.PCPbooks.com sells both reprints of classic titles, and is a great used catholic book seller.
