Latin experts

Looking for some latin experts who might be able to tell me how to say ‘Quiet Thunder’ in Latin. I don’t trust the online translators to do it for me! The term ‘Quiet Thunder’ is a reference to then Archbishop Bergoglio before his election to the Papacy, and I’m wanting to start a blog with this title, but in Latin. Any ideas out there?
 
I’m not an expert, but playing around with different translations, I came to one I like, but not sure of the “correctness” of it: Tonitrus tacitum

Which more translates to “Silent Thunder” rather than “Quiet Thunder”, but I like the sound of it in Latin.
 
For a bit of artist flavour use tranquillus for quiet. Tonitrus tranquillus. 😃
 
I just like it because the idea of “thunder” is very significant in aboriginal thinking and this pope I tell you is that quiet thunder. He has surprised us all and his refreshing connection with the poor, disabled, marginalized (you know all the people Jesus hung out with) … speaks to this aboriginal heart and soul tremendously.

So, can’t help you with the latin translation, but I just wanted to share the idea of thunder (i.e. grandfather thunder, in our springtime) as a very strong indigenous symbol…and you know, with Francis, I’m not surprised he would be called that.

Perhaps the image of thunder as understood by many different cultures, in its collectivity, is a message that might be signficant…who knows…

The word “tacitus” can also mean “not mentioned” so it might be clearer to use a less ambiguous word for quiet. I liked the suggestion of “tranquillus”.

Also, whatever adjective you choose, make sure it matches the noun. “tonitrus” is masculine so put the adjective in its masculine form.

Since thunder and lightning are experienced over most (all?) of the world and were highly mysterious before science explained them, I suspect they are significant in most cultures. In Europe the association was mainly with strength (consider the pagan gods Zeus and Thor).
 
Thanks for the replies, all good ideas! I guess it would be possible to use other words like ‘clemens’ and such; words that express the idea of ‘peaceful’ etc., instead of just words synonymous with ‘quiet’, no?
 
I apologize for jumping in onto this forum. I was wondering if I may piggy back onto the conversation to find the translating for “Proud Above the All” any phrase that is close to it would be greatly appreciated. I used the online translator and I don’t think I can trust it.
