Latin Mass community asked to leave California Mission

I was happy to read in the story that in fact they’re being asked to move to another church in the diocese, not leave altogether. Although I’m sure for those in the community, 35 miles is no minor change.

I pray that Father’s optimism proves to be true, and that, once the difficulties of the move are past, this new location and the chance to have a Sunday morning mass will prove to be the source of even more blessings.

Yes, we are hitting the ground running, but this move was not good for us for many reasons. The Mission was an excellent place for evangelization, as many tourists come through. They would stop and stay when they saw the beauty of our Mass and heard the Chant and Polyphony. We are very spread out here in California, this was a perfectly central location. We have lost people because the new location is just too difficult to get to and is very early for families of small children. This has hit our community, and while we will pick up more people in our new location, my heart goes out to those who simply cannot make it to our new site. We have lost part of our family.
