Does anyone else on this forum receive the Magazine “The Latin Mass: The Journal of Catholic Culture and Tradition”?

If so, what are your opinions about the articles and the author’s?

Thanks and God Bless 😃

P.S. I still think Catholic Answers the Magazine is far superior 😃 👍

I picked up a copy at my local ICKSP chapel about two years ago. I thought it was pretty good but the website is subscriber only, which I think is a poor choice for them. As a result I rarely hear anyone talk about it or reference any articles

If they had advertisers and a paypal button I’m sure they’d do much better and get a lot more readers IMHO.

I am currently subscribed because my Dad got if for me as a birthday present a couple months ago. I love it! There are many solid articles in there. I’m not sure I can really be specific, but obviously, as one might be able to assume based on the title of the magazine, some of the views expressed in there are not popular amongst some Catholics. To be honest, I’m an all-out Latin Mass supporter (and to be even more honest, think the Latin Mass is best for the Roman Rite), but I’m not favorable (though I understand their concerns) towards the SSPX, and there is at least one writer in the magazine, Christopher Ferrara, who I think is rather supportive of the SSPX. And though in my opinion that raises at least a tiny bit of understandable concern. However, as far as I have noticed through one magazine, there is not any Pope-bashing or Ordinary Form bashing (though in one article there was definitely a sentiment that the EF is, shall we say, the ideal) or anything. In any case, most of the articles aren’t about the Latin Mass, just so you know. It’s a rather large magazine (88 pages for the latest) and it would be rather boring to most people if that was all it was about. 🙂

Anyway, there’s my :twocents:

This is a great publication. I recommend it whole heartedly. 👍

I’ve just read some of their articles and decided to give it a chance, a one year subscription. 👍

I had know idea a magazine like this existed, thanks for bringing it to my attention. 🙂

What kind of Latin Mass magazine publishes in English? 🙂
The same kind of mindset that teaches Latin in English?

Or Greek or Polish for that matter? 🙂

But it’s an interesting philosophy.

Hogwash and other expletives…

Show me a single example of any such foolishness.

I suggest that you knock off making unsubstantiated and untrue statements about your so-called :liberals" because at this point you yourself sound more like some sort of fundamentalist. 🤷*

If one gets far enough to the ultra conservative end of the spectrum, then anyone to the left is a liberal. Which is another way of saying that the one being judged is not necessarily a liberal; rather, it is the position of the one judging which is revealed.

Well for one thing this forum in itself. There are many articles allowed from liberal publications but post something about Traditionalism or proper liturgy and more than likely you will get backlash and the thread will be closed. As far as the magazine there is one writer who seems to be fixated on attacking Traditionalists. It’s kind of ironic that criticizing bad liturgy is discouraged on the forum yet here is a recent article from the founder of CA on our duty to do just that…
Why don’t Catholics stand up (or should I say, kneel down) for their liturgical rights? Is their religion so inconsequential to them that they’ll accept anything rather than put up a fuss? Often the answer seems to be yes.

Wait a minute. CA is “Trending liberal”? Clearly we are not reading the same magazine. Just like what otjm said, I feel as if you are not talking about the Magazine from a common ground point of view but rather an ultra conservative point of view.

Now, as for why some liturgy forums get closed down is because people get waaaayyy to heated and start throwing ad hominems. It is not because CA hates the TLM.

They have a website? I figured they would not use any technology that came after the 1960s.

I’m teasing!!
