Latin Mass

I’m going to attend a Tridentine Mass for the first time. I find that modern masses (Novo Ordo) are affecting for the most part but I hope that the Latin mass will be more focused on the Mass as a sacrifice and worship through being brought into the blessed Trinity. It’s this Sunday and I don’t know what to expect but I am optimistic. Anyone else a regular attendee at such masses and if so, do you get a lot out of them.
 
I go to Tridenine masses occasionally. They are beautiful, and it is good that the Holy Father has revived them as a valid option for the faithful.

The fortunate thing is that you have a choice every week! You do not need to commit to one camp (traditional or progressive, Tridentine or post-V2), because they’re both perfectly valid options that are offered every week.

Thanks Fiktur. If it goes well I may well make it a regular mass. Our problem over here in UK and Ireland is that the churches where they’re held are few and far between 😦
 
I take it you’re going to attend the Institute of Christ the King Mass?
 
If you will be at a solemn high mass then the music will be wonderful. A difference is that you may be surprised at how little you hear spoken at this mass.I find it helpful to read along with the mass and join my prayers with those of our priest.
So many more parts of the spoken mass are audible at the low mass that it can be useful to sit up towards the front to better hear the Latin. The language training becomes a welcome side benefit.
I was quickly lost my first few times assisting at the E.F but found the mass kept calling me back. I hope you find it to be every bit as wonderful as I have found it to be. May God bless you.

If a TLM was offered much closer to me and fitting my work schedule, I’d go more often to them. I’ve found a lot of solace in the older traditions and reverence that is much more present.
 
The pre-1962 Traditional Latin Mass is the only form of worship that contains Catholic truth.

I am a convert (was a Jehovah’s Witness for 25 years) and entered the Church this past Easter. I fell in love with the Tridentine Mass and now my family and I attend it exclusively. We are blessed that our parish offers Sung Mass (Missa Cantata) every Sunday and Low Mass every first Saturday, and we also will from time to time go to the FSSP parish about 30 minutes away. It is a completely different ethos that will profoundly connect you to the history of the Church in what is spoken. And yes, the sacrifical nature of the Mass is far more evident in the Tridentine. Enjoy!

All I can say, is that when you attend Latin Mass,it brings you closer to Jesus,and to hear the priest say the words in Latin,and the music,that is played durning Mass, makes you never want to return to the reg Mass,once you go ,you,ll want to come again.

Did you ever get a chance to attend the TLM?

I go to the Latin Mass (TLM). I love going, I get a lot out of it, mostly because the priest does a great homily always. It’s a lot better, in my opinion, than the Novus Ordo.
 
If I didn’t have to drive for an hour to find a Latin Mass, I’d go to it every time.
 
I’m going to my first Latin Mass this Sunday!

It will be a low mass. Is there anything I need to know about it? Will I have to say anything during mass? I already know some Latin and would like to practice

There should be paper missalettes there, usually they are red, latin on one side and english on the other side of each page. It shows the whole text of the mass. It varies from place to place whether the congregation says the responses or only the altar servers say the responses.
 
We use the Adoremus Hymnal which carriers the Order of Mass and over 600 hymns.
