Latin Music

So my parish has taken to doing some of the mass parts in Latin. Only problem, the only Latin I know is figuring it out based on all the Spanish I know. So I would like to at least be able to sing a long easer and I figure the easiest way to learn, is just by listening to the music.

So does anyone have any suggestions of where to find good music of the various Mass parts online. It needs to be something I can get either through itunes, amazon’s mp3 or somewhere else to download. I also want something I can fairly easily understand the words to.

Good for them and good for you.

The problem is that there is more than one chant setting of the Ordinary. In fact, there are at least 18.

But there’s a good chance that they are using the setting from “Jubilate Deo,” a collection of simple chants put out by the Vatican in 1974 (?) as a minimum selection of chant for parish use.

This 2-CD set from the monks of Solesmes has all the chants of the Ordinary “Jubilate Deo,” although not in sequence. You want

Kyrie XVI
Gloria VIII
Credo III
Sanctus XVIII
Agnus Dei XVIII
and perhaps the Pater Noster (Our Father)

Note that the 2-CD set mentioned above is also available as two separate CDs:

Thanks! I couldn’t find that CD on itunes, but the numbers helped. I found this one that had that Agnus Dei and Sanctus and yup, that sounds like what we are using. :yup: Now maybe I’ll be able to sing along beyond the couple of words I can figure out!
