Latin Neophyte curious about the East

I attended my first Divine Liturgy last weekend, and although I’m partial to the Mass, there were aspects of it that I certainly appreciated. It actually inspired me with more of a fervor to see the Mass celebrated with the same reverence.

Wouldn’t you know it? This week at RCIA, a woman that attends both our parish and a Byzantine parish gave a talk about Eastern Catholicism. She even gave everyone chotkis and small icons of Mother of God of Tenderness.

Well, if I wasn’t intrigued before, I am now. I’ve prayed the Jesus Prayer on occasion for awhile now, and I’m now doing it more often.

Does anyone know of any good resources (other than this forum, of course 😃 ) for me to learn more about Eastern Christian spirituality?

I think Archb Raya’s books are often recommended. Here is a link to a list of his books.

Other than those you can always read books by Eastern Orthodox theologians like bishop Kalistos Ware.

You can also check out the Syriac Catholic spirituality by reading books by Seely Beggani.
