Latin or Eastern Rite?

Fr. Vincent tells the questioner that he is Ukrainian Rite. However, the questioner states that he is an adult convert to the faith. Does not canon 111 state that:

ß2 Any candidate for baptism who has completed the fourteenth year of age may freely choose to be baptized either in the Latin Church or in another autonomous ritual Church; in which case the person belongs to the Church which he or she has chosen.

And that the stipulation “You are the rite of your Father” only is in regard to “children” being baptised? (Canon 111 again).

Dear Josh,

You got me! You thrust me through with the truth (by means of canon law, no less)! In my own defense, canon 111 does state that if the parents do not agree on the child being baptized in the Latin Church, then “the child is ascribed to the Ritual Church to which the father belongs." So there is bit of a preference for the father’s rite. But for candidates over fourteen, they are free to choose.
