hi everyone I was wondering if someone could help me translate some Antiphons. Im devoted to st Joseph and found in the Roccolta, Psalms in honour of his holy name…however No english translation at all.

The Psalms I can figure out based on their number… but I cant speak or understand a word of Latin beyond the sign of the Cross. and google translate was no help.
can someone help me?

the antiphons are:

Joseph virum Mariae, de qua natus est Jesus, qui vocatur Christus.

Joseph de domo David, et nomen Virginis Maria.

Joseph vir ejus, cum esset justus, et nollet eam traducere.

Joseph fili David, noli timere accipere Mariam conjugem tuam.

Joseph exurgens a somno fecit, sicut praecepit ei angelus.

Joseph husband of Mary, from whom Jesus, who is called Christ, was born.
Joseph of the house of David, and the name of Virgin Mary
Joseph her husband, being just, did not want to expose her (as in, to shame Mary)
Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to accept Mary as your wife.
Joseph, awoken from his sleep, did as the angel told him.

Rough translations only, but they are Bible verses, so you can look up the exact translations. I’m not a native speaker of English, so I do not know the English translation by heart 🙃 The first two antiphons do not seem to me to be complete sentences but only standalone objects.

Concur. The second one especially is a fragment? The verse is from Luke 1:26-27:
In mense autem sexto, missus est angelus Gabriel a Deo in civitatem Galilaeae, cui nomen Nazareth,
ad virginem desponsatam viro, cui nomen erat Joseph, de domo David : et nomen virginis Maria.
And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth,
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
NB: More correct than “the name of the Virgin Mary” – Only Virginis is genitive; nomen and Maria are both in the nominative.
