What the Latin word for the common language of the people? How do we refer to Church texts or the Bible that are in English, French, Chinese, etc., when they’re translated from Latin?

It’s driving me batty. It’s on the tip of my tongue!

Vulgaris (lingua)

Seems it’s more common now to refer to them by version, such as King James, DR, Knox, etc. (although I understand King James is supposedly a translation from the Greek)

When the Bible was translated into Latin, it was called the Vulgate. The Vulgate was the language of the people (The Romans), that is why the Bible was called that.
