God Bless Laura Ingraham. She is that witty, incisive, conservative radio personality but most of all she is a Catholic convert and a great gift from God in the “culture” war that is today’s political “discourse.” She cuts right to the chase and is a savvy political operative. Her observations can be hysterically funny yet right on the mark. It’s mind-boggling.
I was delighted to hear her speak on her show yesterday about going to evening Mass in Washington DC last weekend and her shock at the casual attire she saw at church, especially women’s attire. She felt that wearing flip-flops and tank tops and sweat pants did not exhibit the proper respect. Her reaction was “the Eucharist, the Blessed Mother.” This on a national political, non-Catholic radio show.
It is certainly not my intent to promote any political talk show but rather my intent is to share that this woman publicly acknowledges her reverence for God’s great gifts to us in the Eucharist and the Blessed mother.
What a delight.
