Lay Healers of the Sick

A friend of mine who is a Catholic but “a bit out there” is you know what i mean has hooled up with some faith healers (protestant evangelicals for the most part) and claims that it is the holy spirit that is doning the healing. She wants us to go to a meeting with this crowd to learn more. The fact that they are not Catholics and dont mention annointing the sick by a priest makes me suspicious. Should i be or is this ok in the bible?
 
The important thing with any sign or miracle is this: what doctrine comes with it?
 
why is that important - does the Holy Spirit need to follow a formula?
 
Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament- only a priest can do that.Laying on of hands-praying for the sick-anybody can do.If there is love and compassion and they don’t try to convert you(hard for evangelicals not to do),I see no problem.To me it’s just an extension of praying for someone who is ill, you’re just moving it up a notch by touching them. It’s a very old , very tried and true method for believers to heal their fellow believers
