Lay offs...

My dh called me at lunch and told me his boss was just laid off… the guy above him told them that there would be more to come. Ohhh I hate days like this! Please say a prayer that dh keeps his job.
 
Praying for you Blest–It can be such an unsettling time right now. Praying for all those during this economy, with jobs–that we keep them!!! And those out of work, can find some direction to provide for themselves and/or their families, through following where God leads them.
 
I am so sorry to hear this. :console: I pray for all who go without employment during these difficult times. You are certainly included. 🙂
 
Oh, gosh… praying!

I got laid off last November and spent over a month looking. Didn’t get ONE call, and I put out about three dozen applications.

I am working again now, but only because the boss from the job I had before the one I got laid off from called me and asked if I wanted it back. Thank God!

It is SO scary, not only not having enough income, but knowing there are basically no jobs out there to get!

DH just got laid off yesterday, so I know the fear. Although, his lay off is supposed to be very temporary.
 
This hits home with me as the company that I work for is starting to lay people off starting next week. I am worried that my job could be on the line.

Wow, my job is stable, but I didn’t get paid today.

Yeah, we’re having trouble making payroll. Accounts Receivable is lagging and funding is getting harder.

We should be okay by the middle of next week. (until the next time).
 
I’m sorry. Hopefully, it will get cleared up.
I work for a global company…I can’t imagine what everyone would do if the paychecks were held up? That happened one year when I was with a company back in PA, before this one–and I remember when UPS went on strike, remember that? Well, our bonus checks (that were not auto deposited like the payroll ones) didn’t arrive on time. Oh my gosh, it was crazy. Some of my colleagues were calling their lawyers.

I’m not suggesting you call a lawyer. 😃 It’s amazing how bad things have become…almost over night. I mean, the eonomy hasn’t been tanking for years…it’s only been what, the last year, or so, and suddenly, companies can’t survive? That is scary.
