I remember hearing or reading somewhere that lay people can bless other people. Is this true?

With Baptism we receive a Divine Grace that makes us kings, prophets and priests.
We are priests, not in the same way ordained priests are, of course, but in the sense that we can intercede for each other and pray for each other. Lay people do not bless others in what might be considered an ‘official blessing’, a ‘sacramental of the Church’, which only ordained ministers can do, but they can do it in the sense that they are asking their Heavenly Father to bless someone, and that is something He gave them the grace to do.:signofcross:

Parents bless their children all the time, and they are lay people 😉

So

:blessyou:
