Why didnt he do that earlier? He did it when Jesus called him.
what you speak of didnt happen in this situation.
Sorry Manny I wont speak anymore of this on this thread
Mannyfit75 to respond please.

i will respond if i am understanding the “question” correctly.

lazarus would have had to hear Jesus. that doesn’t mean by use of an ear, ear drum, etc. Jesus spoke with the voice of God (being God Himself) and there is nowhere you can go to hide from God. Lazarus’ spirit could hear God and was commanded to re-enter his body. the spirit and the body (both creations of God by the way) would have experienced the creator’s voice and would have no choice but to respond to it. lazarus’ body was dead, fully, and was brought back to life, fully.

Exactly! Lazarus spirit heard and responded to God. His old dead body reformed itself (think of the cheerleader in Heroes) and Lazarus returned form the dead. 👍

Hi

Jesus did not announce that he was speaking as a God ( if he had announced that must have been mentioned in the scriptures). God does not need a tongue, teeth and vocal chord to speak, so he was a man at that time, in my opinion.

Thanks

Lazarus was brought back to life by Christ’s will and action, and then to show this to the crowd, Jesus called him to come out. He could here and respond because he was then alive, having just “awaken” from the dead.

Jesus is fully God and fully man at the same time. He often acted as God by speaking as a man, as when he calmed the waves:
Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they were afraid and wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commands even the winds and water, and they obey him. (Luke 8:22-25)
Hope this helps,
Paul

He is man all the time, just as He is God all the time. This is the Mystery of the Incarnation. God as man, yet fully still God … fully human and fully divine.

Hi

There is no mystery here, it is only confusion of the Christianity, which is splitting it into 32000plus denominations, in my opinion.

Thanks

What does Lazarus’s rising from the dead have to with 32000 + Christian denominations? Your statement makes no sense given your post about Jesus speaking as a man and my response to your post.

What confusion are you talking about?

Jesus does not speak as a God … He speaks as God.

I doubt that Lazarus would of had to hear a thing… If God wanted him up-and-at-em… that’s what would be… weather or not Lazarus could here or was deaf…IMHO of course:thumbsup:

this is a very early heresy within the church. it has always been condemned by the church, yet it still pops up in various places. whenever Jesus spoke, He spoke as God because He could not have spoken any other way. just as whenever i speak, i speak as a husband, a son, a brother, etc. i am all of those things all of the time just as Jesus was always God (and still is) and fully human. there was no separation.

Paar,
Thank you for this question. This was a wonderful gift to us.

Jesus said in John 8:19 “if you know me, you know my Father” and in John 10:30-33 that he and the Father are ONE and John 10:38 that he is in the Father and the Father is in him. When he called to Lazarus, he had the full athority to speak as God because he IS God. Just before he calls to Lazarus, Jesus calls himself “the Resurection and the life.” Since Jesus is God and he is the Resurection, he could “call” Lazarus back into life.

In Islam, every mosque is its own denomination. What difference could this possibly make?

But all Christians believe Jesus is fully God, and fully Man. Jesus’ church, the Catholic Church remains in tact from 2,000 years. We don’t concern ourselves what non-Catholics do.

What a force a United Christendom would be to the world. It is God’s Will, so His will will be done.

There are many denominations within Islam as well, Sunni, Shii’a, Ahmadi, Nation of Islam, just to name a few. Then you have different schools within these faith traditions and other religions which are derived from Islam. Muslims were the first Protestants, look at how close the doctrines of Islam and Protestantism are (no united Islamic leader, reader interprets Quran for themselves supposedly through Hadiths)…

Look at all the bloodshed in the middle east just because there are a few Islamic denominations… there’s not bloodshed like that in the West because of different Christian denominations.

Hi

I think it is wrong to conclude that Catholic Church remains intact.
Where have these 32000 plus denominations split from and why? It is for wrong doings of the Church at Rome , in my opinion.

God’s will is in Uniting not splitting.

Thanks

The Catholic church itself has not changed in the last 2000.
However, thanks to a man called Martin Luther, a split happened, and once this happened, many other denoms were also led astray.
The Catholic church itself is not responsible for the split, nor has the Catholic church split at all.
The Catholic church itself still remains faithful to the true teachings of God, and what Jesus bestowed upon us.

I think you are ‘correct’ Paarsurrey, about the ‘splinters.’ In spite what they may say, they do ‘originate’ from the Catholic Church, but it is NOT from the wrong doings of The Church at Rome. They are from ‘our own opinions’ and free will. The Church is still the same as it ever was, so it cannot have been ‘wrong doings.’

It is difficult to understand ‘mysteries’ That’s why they are called ‘mysteries.’ But we can learn and study the evidence of Scritpures and look for corroboration among tradition.

In regards raising Lazarus from the dead, I think it is a clear demonstration of Jesus being God and what will happen on Judgement Day. On that day, when God speaks, THE DEAD WILL RISE. Not in dust, skeletons or various stages of decay, but ‘perfect,’ living humans!

Only He can do this, which points to WHO Jesus is.

Whether Lazarus ‘heard’ Him or what, we can only rely on the account, which stipulates that WHEN CALLED and beckoned to come out, he did!

How that happens for a dead man, or what precisely happens when you’re dead and called by God, well, apparently we will ALL find out!

I also am not sure exactly what the questioner’s point is, but I think he or she is saying Lazarus couldn’t have been raised from the dead because a dead man couldn’t hear Jesus in order to answer Him.

In response, does the questioner also believe that light, which had not yet existed prior to its creation and which does not have ears in any case, could not have been created by God because it couldn’t have heard God say “let there be light”?

Dear Paarsurrey,

From your postings, it seems to me that you did not allow God to act on His own way. You keep thinking that God acts in accordance with your own thought, within your own logic. In that case, Paar, you are reducing God into your human mind. About Lazarus, you brought it up, and make your own conclusion. It is simple Paar, just read further of John 12:9-11. If Lazarus did not die according to you, why would the Jews were trying to kill Lazarus? Simply prove that Lazarus did not die (according to you) then Jesus would be in trouble. The Jews wanted to kill Lazarus, because they could not refute that Jesus infact brought Lazarus back to live. The only way to disprove Jesus’ miracle, was to kill Lazarus, the living proof of Jesus’ miracle. It is amazing Paar, you raised so many points for us to ponder, but yet you did not answer any single question we asked you. Come on brother, we have read your publications of your ProphetMessiah, compared it to our believe, and conclude that we can not accept the logic of your ProphetMessiah. Isn’t it the time you do the same thing? Read our bible in our way (not your lawyer way of reading), consider the true meaning, ask if you do not understand. Keep your mind open, and understand the message first. Once you understand, compare it to what you believe now. At least I did that. I understand the goal of your ProphetMessiah, and I do not think it is an evil goal at all. I just disagree of how to accomplish that.
