I would like to reshearch some of the Anti-Catholic arguments. I want to do this so I have an idea of how to defend my faith when something like that comes up. Any Ideas on some good material to look at? Thanks and God bless.

Karl Keating’s book Catholicism and Fundamentalism - which I already recommended to you in another thread - presents and then addresses many of the common charges laid against the Church by anti-Catholics.

A good book that specifically deals with the Eucharist is Mark Shea’s This Is My Body, and the same author’s book on the issue of authority (Scripture alone? or also Sacred Tradition) By What Authority: An Evangelical Discovers Catholic Tradition would be another one for your personal library.

Search, too, through the Catholic Answers’ Library where you will find many articles addressing specific anti-Catholic claims.
 
If you want to research directly you can go to www.chick.com and read some books online such as Roman Catholicism by Rick Jones.

This was a book given to my wife when we were in Calvary Chapel.

I have written a couple chapters refuting the first few chapters of his book, but have stopped as it kinda turns my stomach to read too much of it. I need to bite the bullet to finish.

I try not to spend any money to support any rubbish such as that, so I look for free sources such as that and or used book stores.

I’ve seen someone recommend Dave Hunt’s A Woman Rides the Beast on an anti-Catholic forum. A Catholic poster replied that the book was laughably wrong, but apparently some of our separated and estranged brethren still use it.

Yes, several of our seperated brethren on that…other…site have cited this book as a great reference. :rolleyes: Even James White said this book was worthless.
