are you saying that they have enough money to excavate Cumorah?
They have more than enough. 😃

They could use ground radar and then see where exactly they need to excavate without disturbing the ground at all. And it wouldn’t even be expensive especially in relation to the BILLIONS they collect each year.

Gee, I wonder why they wouldn’t do that?

yeah…I wonder…

From the Salt Lake Tribune:

Seems odd, considering only about 1/3 of the people in the world have internet access.

Also, opening their ward houses for tours? There isn’t really anything to see at a Mormon ward house. I also wonder how they’re going to manage security of their buildings.
Does this mean the missionaries will no longer be sent to foreign countries?

Will they all just show up to a big warehouse with a bunch of computers?

Hi Tex!

Do Mormons ever ask about this?

Did you and your fellow Mormons ever ask about this?
no…As a Mormon, I fully believed what the Church taught…the hill in NY was THE Cumorah., I visited Palmyra three times in the late 80s/early 90s. Saw the pageant once. Each time, we visited Cumorah and were told by the LDS guides that it was THE Cumorah. I never questioned it. After all, js, THE “prophet” declared, without question…without stating it was opinion, without waffling, that the hill was THE Cumorah. Other "prophets had also declared it. Why question it? The lds “prophets” would NEVER mislead us…

What does the LDS church do with all the billions they collect in tithing each year?

Missionaries pay their own way, and even very poor families are obligated to pay tithing to the LDS corporation if they want a temple recommend.

The LDS church could actually make a difference in the world if they took some of their billions and used it to help the poor. The missionaries could go to poor countries and volunteer their time digging wells, working in health care, caring for the elderly. Instead they spend their money and time looking for coverts who will then give 10% of their income so the LDS corporation can get even richer.

Who gets all the money?
Wow Miriam1947, that shows you’ve been reading the Book of Mormon. Wait–were you trying to sound like Korihor, the Anti-Christ or do you really think that way?
*Alma 30:27 And thus ye lead away this people after the foolish traditions of your fathers, and according to your own desires; and ye keep them down, even as it were in bondage, that ye may glut yourselves with the labors of their hands, that they durst not look up with boldness, and that they durst not enjoy their rights and privileges.

Alma 30:28 Yea, they durst not make use of that which is their own lest they should offend their priests, who do yoke them according to their desires, and have brought them to believe, by their traditions and their dreams and their whims and their visions and their pretended mysteries, that they should, if they did not do according to their words, offend some unknown being, who they say is God—a being who never has been seen or known, who never was nor ever will be.*

ah…so you conveniently skipped over Cumorah. Typical…but let us see…

Alma 30:27 And thus ye lead away this people after the foolish traditions of your fathers, and according to your own desires; and ye keep them down, even as it were in bondage, that ye may glut yourselves with the labors of their hands, that they durst not look up with boldness, and that they durst not enjoy their rights and privileges.

That sounds like the lds church. The traditions of Cumorah, polygamy, etc. and how js glut himself after the labors of the hands of his subjects.

Alma 30:28 Yea, they durst not make use of that which is their own lest they should offend their priests, who do yoke them according to their desires, and have brought them to believe, by their traditions and their dreams and their whims and their visions and their pretended mysteries, that they should, if they did not do according to their words, offend some unknown being, who they say is God—a being who never has been seen or known, who never was nor ever will be.

Yes…like their own money that, if they do not pay what the lds church demands, they cannot get to heaven. This verse seems to chastise the lds church.

Now…about Cumorah…

Wait, are you advocating a view that helping the poor is a sign of the anti-Christ?

Actually I am talking about Catholic social teaching. Help the poor. See Christ in the poor. You know, pretty much the way Pope Francis looks at the poor.

But, you wouldn’t know that would you? The poor are not real are they? Christ is in the poor.

As He said," What you do for the least of these, you do for me."

We will all be judged. Know and remember that.

I just got a request from “LDS Man” on my Facebook page. I wonder if this has anything to do with that. 😃

Probably. It is the newest revelation using the internet to bring back inactives back to the Mormon church. There was a “an historic announcement” about the missionaries using iPads to bring in converts rather than tracting.

That would pretty much cover Facebook.

The day I became Catholic (2002) was the first day my Soul and Spirit were at rest since I realized the lds church was false in 1989
TK: it took you a few years to enter… what happened from 1989 to 2002?

Oh, I got the Anti-Christ wrong? You mean Judas and not Korihor?

John 12:5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

No. I think you meant Js and BY. They were the ones who sold their souls to control people and have all the women they wanted

We watched the program last night. My ex-mormon husband wanted to know how soon he can expect the onslaught of “visitors”. The whole thing sounds strange. Why do the chapels say “visitors welcome” and post no signs for service times? The answer is easy: they want everything investigators see or do to be highly controlled. There is no popping in to visit a mormon chapel.
How about “visitors welcome” on the temples? I wish that was here now!!😃

They could take over a call center and just make calls and tweets.

The announcement said the iPad missionaries will only be in North America for now.

So the scripture that was revealed through JS even says God will never be seen! Oh, but wait, didn’t he claim that too? Sad.

At any rate, nothing in the Bible is referencing Mormonism. I know that is confusing to LDS. This passage is referencing Jesus CHRIST, the anointed one prophesied in scripture who was about to give his life, for you. It isn’t a passage that indicates anything at all about Mormons in general, a particular Mormon, or the Mormon church.

But to quote your current “prophet, seer and revelator”:

“Let’s go shopping!”

Yup, that is what Jesus was talking about.
