At any rate, nothing in the Bible is referencing Mormonism. I know that is confusing to LDS. This passage is referencing Jesus CHRIST, the anointed one prophesied in scripture who was about to give his life, for you. It isn’t a passage that indicates anything at all about Mormons in general, a particular Mormon, or the Mormon church.

But to quote your current “prophet, seer and revelator”:

“Let’s go shopping!”

Yup, that is what Jesus was talking about.
my gosh, can you imagine how many wives js and BY would have had if malls had existed back then? Talk about one-stop shopping!

They could take over a call center and just make calls and tweets.

The announcement said the iPad missionaries will only be in North America for now.
So does that mean that eventually the LDS will add to the list of irritating telemarketers who call in the middle of dinner?
Lucky I’m in Australia:D

Have friends who are Jehovah’s Witnesses.

They indicate that they have been focusing upon internet outreach for about 5 years. Only recently have they used this outreach to scale back their print operations.

I suspect the CoJCoLDS have been doing similarly, and likely longer than the JW’s. The LDS just seem to be more tech-savy and trend-savy than the Witnesses.

And, now that they have some time and experience doing it this way, they know how to establish guidelines, limits, and firewalls which will allow them to limit damage to their efforts. Obviously, they want to minimize incidents involving missionaries using internet access inappropriately, vulnerability to hacking, etcetera.

And I suspect they are rolling this out in phases: America, Europe, Australia first. Countries with more traditional cultures probably aren’t as technological and retain customs of hospitality and neighborliness which are what the door-to-door outreaches were originally designed to exploit.
