***It isn’t a claim of the LDS that Holy Spirit went entirely silent after the apostles. As for the rest of the analogy I get that Mormonism is not seen as a natural development of the original church.
No, it is not seen as a natural development of the original Church, it could not be more contrary to it. It is in every sense the complete opposite. Such as pride in our dealings is the complete opposite of Real Humility that only can come from Christ Himself, then through us if we so choose. . In the Original Church we are taught to place ourselves in the lowest places. The Pope would be in the lowest of them all, assuming He is following Christ example. Only pride in what Christ has done for us matters. Christ placed Himself in the lowest places, he hung with the lowest people, this was the greatest thing that he came to do for those who can understand, come to this revelation. In it you find yourself at the foot of the Cross with absolutely no where else to go that matters, embraced by Mary and John, all the Saints and Angels are there to embrace you, for the joy that is only found in Christ Jesus. You see God will never die and leave His Church Orphaned. He will always be our only Parent. In Him we have found His Eternal Son, His Eternal Spirit that through His Son He has poured out this love on His Creation. I mean this is the Advent Season, Christ to us. This what we are living in this Glorious Season. After which comes the Easter season once more into our lives.

If I were to change the analogy, the NT church was like a child who couldn’t get along with her parents, then the parents later died in a car accident. The child was then brought up in foster care and mixed the teachings of both old and new parents.
Looking back, when I was taught by my LDS Grandmother about Joseph Smith and His Church, about the restoration I can only pray that she has said yes to Christ and found her way home. But in my heart I know that the love my grandmother gave me was from God through her. So when I make it home to my creator in a sense I will be home with my grandmother. So I am not distressed in any way shape or form.

** Later the original parents were resurrected and had a new child. The parents love both children and hope for the best for each of them.**
Christ / God died for me and was risen in order for this child to have life, to be reconciled with His Father, to wipe out the punishment that was against all as a result of what took place in the garden, to willingly leave the grace of God in search of becoming a god. Christ has given this grace to know these things to Christians who have been born again because of Him.
I was once lost, Now I have been found.
God Bless
