All missionaries that are currently serving are listed on the local mission website, right??
… and have email???

I just want to know if I really talked to missionaries or not… They declined on email, and they don’t show up on the mission website. Trying to discern possibility of talking to impostors… or maybe even demons.

I know what nerves feel like in new situations. What I experienced was something entirely different. Heart racing, desire to sprinkle holy water (which I did after they left), and not feeling crazy when yelling at Satan and telling him to leave when praying the DIvine Mercy Chaplet…

No they should not give you their email, but they should be willing to share their cell phone number. They move locations quite regularly so the next time you call, a new missionary might answer the phone.

I can’t imagine what public website would list out all the missionaries for all the wards across the world.

mission.net/ then click on the local mission, which directs you to their site, and you can click on “currently serving”

I’ve done that, and can’t find them.

Thanks Greg,
mission.net is not an offical church web site. I think it is targeted primarily at alumni, like classmates.com. So your local missionaries might show up there after they have completed their mission. I see that a current missionary can register on their site, but they really aren’t allowed much time on computers and only for specific purposes.

If you have concerns about them, you should call your local LDS ward to speak with someone.

They’ve definitely given my mother the creeps in the way they approached her, they sounded inhuman (metaphorically speacking?) with every response they gave me, and they’re SOOO persistent.

Wouldn’t most respect someone’s “no”?

greg,
I suggest you go to mormon.org/ and ‘Chat Online’ They can provide some guidance and a phone number, if they can’t take a complaint.

Thanks, but no thanks. It’s best for me not to pursue this. They did give me their cell, and I called them yesterday and bluntly told them that I knew that they were lying about their intentions. I ended up having to hang up on him due to his persistence in “not knowing where I was coming from.”

After that, I doubt they’ll be trying to contact me again. Only if they do will I pursue filing a complaint against them.

No, they don’t. 😃 I spent a few minutes one afternoon with Mormon missionaries at my door answering every single sentence with, “I’m not interested.” They just kept on talking like they hadn’t heard a thing I said. It is what they are trained to do.
