LDS Question - Why do all Mormons give that same Testimonial statement?

lol is this a question where you already know the answer?

The “First Vision” record states that “their” creeds are an “abomination”. Some Mormons are against creeds as a concept as well. The Nicene-Constantinopolitan and Athanasian Creeds are definitely out of the question.

Yes. Sort of I guess. I know why they don’t have certain creeds, I just don’t quite get why they don’t whip up some of their own (but that is sort of what this testimony thing sounds like).

I always thought that the “Articles of Faith” were basically a creed, however when this is said, some LDS say “NO IT CAN’T BE A CREED!!! ”. Only a few respond in this way (it’s actually a subject that comes up periodically on Mormon forums).

Well as I recall, the JWs are anti-creeds, but I never really thought the Mormons were. Their articles of faith sort of lay some of it out there. Of course it is a bit watered down and leaves some to discover doctrine much later.
