To say that any human can become a God or the God of any " world " is blasphemy. May God have mercy on our souls. I cannot agree with those people. While I do not condemn to hell, I can say that anyone who aspires to be equal with the Almighty is committing the sin of pride that lucifer did. " I shall become as the most high. " Aspiring to Godhood is sinful, evil, and blasphemous.

“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.”

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

A throne means rulership. All things means all things. Glorified means the glory the Son received.

See also 1 John 3:2 “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”

Like him means “like Him”. He is God the Son, perfect in every way, just as His Father is perfect. His atoning sacrifice really has the power to grant those who seek a fullness of grace through Him, the amazing consequence of being able to become like Him.

It seems that mormons and catholics have much in common with their wording. And this should be no surprise since both churches have much truth. One claims no apostacy and other claims apostacy. But in the end, there are similiarities more than with protestants.

I can assure you as an exmormon and now catholic for years that there is nothing in common with catholic and mormons! you really need to educate yourself seriousely!

We will become very much like Him, that is the whole of our purpose here on earth. We shall share in Christ’s glory if we conform our lives to his on earth <-----challenge. “If we suffer with him, we shall also be glorified with him.” Christ Jesus emptied himself and became a servant of God. -col. He is our older brother because he did this, he became a man, became part of our human family that by his double nature as God, we might become part of God’s Family. We share in God’s life.

Thanks Parker, for verifying. Yes the whole point is to become more like our teacher, Jesus. We are born in God’s image and we have to try to get better and better and more like him. Jesus showed us the way.
