See Revelation 3:21 and Revelation 21:7 and also Romans 8:17.

“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.”

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

A throne means rulership. All things means all things. Glorified means the glory the Son received.

See also 1 John 3:2 “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”

Like him means “like Him”. He is God the Son, perfect in every way, just as His Father is perfect. His atoning sacrifice really has the power to grant those who seek a fullness of grace through Him, the amazing consequence of being able to become like Him.

Problem is that Scripture (Old Testament and New Testament) is very clear–there is only ONE God. And the Early Church Fathers obediently echoed that–sometimes with their lives. In fact, no Early Church Father taught a plurality of gods. (As a matter of fact, I’m told that the book of Alma in the BOM itself does not teach that there is more than one god. It isn’t until one gets into The Pearl of Great Price and The Doctrines and Covenants that one gets into the strange LDS teachings like “more than one god”, etc.)

Many current Mormon beliefs conflict with their own BOM. That’s the problem with claiming to receive “new revelations” from God. It appears their god cannot make up his mind.

I just saw the movie “September Dawn” about the Mormon church killing some pioneers that were passing through Utah. Good movie and very chilling.

The version of Jesus Christ in the Book of Mormon is a far cry from the version the Church teaches. Very inconcistant. It is tru the Plurality isn’t addressed until you get into PGP and the D&C.
D&C being “Revelation” to Joseph Smith and the PGP …now thats a story. The PGP was a set of scrolls a traveling carnival had in their possesion and J.Smith bought the scrolls and “Translated” said scrolls into the PGP. I mean really!?
It just gets more and more fantastic. Anyway you’re right on with that assesment. Alma is very specific in its teaching of only ONE GOD…
