Could you share with us your experience?
My friend took me to her Stake, once. It was an evening service.
There was a choir of children and they were singing a beautiful
song. At the very moment they mentioned the name of Jesus in the course of this song, a rushing as of wind came swooping down
over the choir into the audience. It left me breathless, my spine tingling, my knees weak.
It was a feeling not unlike being “slain in the Spirit” which I have since experienced. It was a very definite experience, yet I knew
it was not of God. I have an uncanny gift for discernment, and I was strong enough in my faith at that point not to pay attention to it. Yet, a few years earlier, I may have taken that as a sign. I don’t
mean to imply that your experience was not of God, but, was it
similar to this? It has puzzled me since, because it seems to fit the description in the Bible.
The Mormons I have known all seem to experience similar things. But, as I pointed out to a couple of missionaries recently, there are a lot of things I would have to believe that are a bit far fetched to accept Mormon doctrine. In the first place, where are those alleged tablets? I lived near Palmyra, even went to the pageant
(which is very nice), which is supposedly the very hill where they have been buried, but no one ever seems to find them. The religion is riddled with things like this. Very interesting, though.
The missionaries took a keen interest in my teenage son, by the
way.
