LDS: where did God the Father get His body?

i thought god the father in mormonism was a man from the planet kolob, and that matter has existed eternally. so that, there must be an eternal progression of fathers. at least, that is how i would explain it.

God the Father is all Spirit. We as mortal men cannot know him because he is incomprehensible to us. Our small minds cannot know Him as He knows us.

God the Father does not have a body as we know it.
