Least Favorite Secular Christmas Song Poll-2006: Multiple Choices Allowed!

Was listening to radio in the car yesterday and heard a song that was funny in a sick sort of way. Don’t know the title nor the “artist”

A little girl was singing in a sort of questioning, mournful tone about how she waited up all night for Santa and he never came. On another note, there is something stuck in the chimney and the house is starting to smell really bad. . .

My brother had this homemade cassette years ago from the Navy, it was funny, crude but funny
One song I remember was
“Wreck the Malls”

Switch some “Bing” for “Twisted sister” fa la la la la la la la la

Other ones were

3rd- Christmas Don’t Be Late (and every other Chipmunks song- the squeaky voices are annoying).

2nd- Santa Baby- we played a song in high school pep band called “The Stripper”. You’ve probably heard it on movies or something when a scantily clad woman is in the scene if you don’t know it by name. Santa Baby reminds me a lot of this song.

1st- So this is Christmas. This is by far the most depressing Christmas song I’ve ever heard.

And of the ones not on the list…

Sleigh Ride (the tune has always annoyed me for some reason)

O Holy Night (if it is sung properly it is one of my favorites- but I have yet to hear a version that doesn’t add extra words here and there, or slow down and then speed up, or clip off parts of phrases- I like it just as it is written- no alterations).

The one I really dislike is “Tinsle and Fire” by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer or “I Believe in Father Christmas”, I’m not sure which one is the version I know. It sounds so pretty with nice ringing bells and chimes, but if ever listen to the words…

One more day to vote, and it looks like Mad-Donna will rank numb er one this year. One radio station was still playing some Christmas yesterday, bur really, it should have been all the religioius ones. We are in the Tweleve Days of Christmas, aren’t we?
