Since the OP doesn’t list a religious preference, I can’t get upset. There have been several of these “suicide notes” lately of people who leave because they just don’t like what they read. Other posters have said correctly that if you are not Catholic, you are in an adversarial (not antagonistic) position and you have to expect others to disagree with you. As to Catholic positions being scary or creepy, that’s his hangup; that’s how I interpret “scary” or “Creepy.” I notice he doesn’t list what he considers scary or creepy so I’m not going to lose any sleep over his choice.
Another thing about this forum. Although this poster appears to be male, several female posters have left because of hurtful or unfeeling impressions. Women and men “argue”,or correspond may be a better word, differently. Women have a tend to be more collaborative, men more tunnel visional. I know I have seen and experienced this when I try to analyze posts that “criticize” my viewpoints. Sometimes what seems gruff or abrupt is simply a narrative style of writing and thinking.
My $.02.
 
Leave if you must, but remember the door swings both ways and is never locked-open 24/7.
