WOW! Your prayers are powerful and God is good! I can’t tell you the details but any doubts I have about going to take this job are out the window! God has given me a miraclous sign! Almost to unbeliavable to be true! My parents even are going to have to admit that is a sign. My father has admited that this is abit wierd to be a chance happening…it is one of those ‘coincedences’ that you know God alone worked out! Praised be Jesus Christ now and forever!

That last sentence really hit home with me. One day, my mother (who is not a Catholic or even baptized but has a very strange and heretical view of Christianity because of both her past experiences and pride), told me that “God gave me to HER and that I belonged to HER” so she had to “fight for me.” It was then that I really realized how messed up her thinking was and I told her I first belonged to God. I was His child and He had entrusted me to her care, but, ultimately, I was given a free will to follow Him wherever He Willed and Lead me. You are His Child, first and foremost too. You can respect your parents even by not following their will for you. Ever read the story of St. Francis of Assisi and how he declared in public one day, that he had only one Father-God the Father?
This makes me think of Kahil Gibran’s The Prophet, where he speaks of children. “Your children are not your children, they are sons and daughters of Life longing for Itself.” Then it goes on to say something like they are from you but do not belong to you. And you are the bow but they are the arrows. An arrow is not meant to remain in its pack but it is meant to be shot into the air. I know women who have had dominering parents. They were aftaid to leave home for fear of what their parents would do or think of them. Now, in their 50’s, with their parents gone, these two unmarried women live as two spinster sisters. They would love to get married but they feel it is too late (we know it is not). Thank God they have good jobs and can support themselves. They are making due but now they are dependent on each other.

Growing up and making adult choices is what you’re supposed to do. I’m sorry if your parents can’t understand that.

Maybe I’m jumping to conclusions, but it sounds like if you stay, they may want to have too much say in your life. That’s not healthy.

If you’re worried about how you’ll manage, be sure to find a church that has young adult support so you can make friends and get support that way.
Great advice!!

HI , I have left and been at my new job for almost 3 weeks. I love the work and am so glad I Came. This is the work I think I was meant ot do…maybe not here forever persay but this has showed me what direction to take for the future I think. My parents and I talked on the phone and things are okay. I think maybe even that it helped us in a strange way to grow closer because of some things that were said as I left. THey didn’t say good-bye but on the phone our conversations have been good. THey still think I will come running home soon but I dont plan on it. Thanks for the advice!
God Bless!

glad to hear you are happy!! You will continue to be in my prayers
