It will be a good idea to start this thread under the “Non-Catholic Religions” section, so other Muslims can read it…
 
Since everyone is encouraging Kouyate42 to pray to God Almighty for His Guidance, then I would certainly agree with this advice and I would also like to add that the very best way to pray would be to follow the way how the Biblical Prophets (peace be upon them all) themselves prayed to their Lord.

Genesis 17:3 "And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,"

Genesis 17:17 "Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?"

Exodus 34:8 "And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped."

Numbers 16:20-22 "And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?"

Joshua 5:14 "And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant?"

In order to seek His Guidance, then I would suggest that such prostration to the Lord in prayer be done regularly in the privacy of your home, preferably in the direction of Jerusalem if you like and I would also suggest that you do this immediately after you have taken your bath.

If one **sincerely **seeks Guidance from the Lord and does it in the way how the Biblical Prophets (peace be upon them all) themselves prayed to their Lord, then God-willing, one shall indeed find and recognize divine Guidance which comes only from their Lord and Creator.

Basically what changed my mind was the glaringly obvious clashes between the sunnah and Hadith and what I was reading in the Quran. Even what I was seeing for myself in practice seemed to contradict what I was being told was ‘real’ Islam.

Plus I am questiong why the hadith arenecessary given that the Quran itself states it is a perfect and complete book.

I also got sick of the increasingly petty and mindless divisions over the smallest of things including some of the most basic tenets of Islam such as how the salat should be prayed. What was said by one scholar was contradicted by another. One sect teaches one thing and another teaches something else.

The very best way would be Eucharistic adoration.
 
Just start praying to God. God in the end will be loving and do what is best for you. Pray!🙂
 
There are only two directions that any human being is taking at any point in their life. Either we are moving closer to our Creator, or further away. My advice for you, and to all of us, is that we desire to draw closer to our Creator, the Father of us all.

But the main reason that I have created this thread is that my decision to leave Islam has left me feeling fairly directionless in terms of my relationship to God. I feel quite lost and am really unsure as to how to proceed.
