"Leaving Las Vegas" starring Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue

Well, there is that sex scene with the prostitute which is pretty graphic. That wasn’t something I wanted to see in my grandparents’ living room.

The movie review you mentioned justifies its “O” rating thus:
Graphic sex, occasional violence including a gang rape and much rough language.

I try to reserve saying that someone should be ashamed to the occasions of one person badly mistreating another person.
 
Should Elisabeth Shue be ashamed for herself for appearing in Leaving Las Vegas? She did receive an Oscar nomination for her work in the movie.
 
I really didn’t like this movie. Didn’t like any of the characters, found none of them sympathetic. Especially the Nicholas Cage character.

There was also a very graphic scene where several young men abuse and rape the Elizabeth Shue character. Even now like 18 years later I find it disturbing to remember that. Not the kind of thing you want seared into your memory.
