It can more or less be summed up as “spiritual meditation on spiritual reading” – shorter readings with longer meditation on them.

How do you do it-- by doing it.
Seriously.
Lectio- reading.
Meditatio- meditation.
Oratio- prayer.
Contemplatio- contemplation.
A good book to get started on it is, “Too Deep for Words” by Thelma Hall.
If you like a very guided method of prayer, this one is going to throw you for a loop. It is, more or less, a methodless method.
