I’m looking for a good resource for how the Lectionary was put together. What’s the history? Who decided which Old Testament readings should go with which New Testament readings and Gospel readings?
The current lectionary was put together by the Consilium for the reform of the Liturgy. Chapter 26 of Bugnini’s The Reform of the Liturgy 1948-1975 describes this process in detail.
