Is there a blessing that you recieve prior to surgury?

You may request the sacrament called Anointing of the Sick from your parish priest. This is a sacrament, and not just a blessing. I mean for actual surgery, where you get general anesthesia for several hours, not small things done in the doctor’s office, like removing a wart.

Yes - contact a Priest and tell hiim the entire situation. He can then tell you whether or not you need Extreme Unction or merely a blessing.
