Ken:
Just ask them.
And they can tell you whatever they want. The fact that you are growing petunias in your yard (or fail to bathe regularly, as the matter may be) harms their heightened sense of smell and is an assault upon them.

So now “harm” is whatever someone says it is, and what should be “legal” is whatever someone says it is, and what should be “illegal” is whatever someone says it is. How arbitrary this libertarian system is!

Unless your law is based on something permanent, the law will always be arbitary. And therein lies the danger.

It’s very simple. If you want to know if someone is being harmed, simply ask. I suspect some folks just don’t like the answers, so they would like to answer for everybody.

I’m not sure what petunias have to do with this.

Just a couple nitpicks, homosexuality was not the sin Sodom & Gomorrah was destroyed for, it was for inhospitality. Secondly, not all homosexual relationships invovle sodomy.

***Oh, Please, give me a break - you did not fall for that explanation?! Go back and read the words - it can be nothing else! :nope: ***

You are beyond exasperating. Let me put it to you another way:

Using your logic: If you want to know what 5+5 equals, simply ask. So what if you don’t get the same answer from everyone? The only thing that matters is what they say it is.

You can’t make it up as you go along.

Back to the world of theology and reality - something is either true, or it is not true. The Truth is not whatever someone says it is.

Some people feel harmed by a particular action while others don’t. Those who don’t feel harmed will engage in it. Those that do feel harmed won’t.That is the world of reality.

Perhaps the world of theology needs to visit the world of reality.

But there will always be those who refuse to see and hear the Word.

Thankfully, God sent His only Son, so that all might have the opportunity to be in Heaven. Those who could not sense that revelation can now see and hear God’s Word. All they have to do now is open their eyes, their ears, and their hearts, where God wrote His law long ago…

What did God write on their hearts?

You must also support prostitution.

The both are over-age part, what state? Age of consent varies from state to state. I think Louisianna is the lowest at 15. So that means a 45 year old could then have relations with the 15 year old.

Nobody is harmed. I ask, in what way? S&M many times involves physical punishment.

By stating the government should stay out of the bed room ‘as long as’, the government is already in the bedroom putting limitations on things.
I disagree with both, but using the arguement for “Same Sex” marriages why not legalize prostitution? I think that is comming next!

Prostitution is already legal in one state. And hurting no one? How about God, doesn’t such actions hurt Him? I think a “yes” or “no” vote should be on the national ballet in regards to same sex marriage, and the abortion issue; thus put an end to the situation once and for all.

Legalize Sodomy? No Way!

After trying to read ALL of the posts up to this point…what a headache! Has anyone ever considered what the effects of someone who had been in this stance and recovered from the act of sodomy?

From personal experience, the soul is weakened to the point of spiritual death. The emptiness is very strong and undescribable. It becomes an addiction of sorts and the whole existance of that person is focused simply on the sex act. The persons thoughts are tangled up in lust and the lack of respect for other males.

WIth the Grace of God, I had been there. And for anyone who want to legalize something that destroys the inner soul and the conscience is completely dead, what kind of existance is that?

Doesn’t the Catholic Church teaches that God’s Law overrides governemental laws? Then as citizens of Heaven here on Earth, we should evangleize with charity and love to those who’s eternal life is in jeopardy. (Whether a person listens to Christian teaching is their business, but no one can say that we didn’t give them ample time to repent/confess their sins). All in all, it’s Free Will and God gives EVERYONE the right to excersise that freedon.

go with God!

GREAT testimony. If only those who want homosexual marriage could read and believe this, or the homo’s period! But guess, each of us has to learn someway…some the easy way, others have no choice but the hard way, at least theres a way if they have enough time left here on earth to do it.

Jeezzzzzzz, after reading all those posts my head is spinning :whacky: ! I’m very surprised the moderator has not moved this thread to the political forum or closed it completely. I’m not pointing the finger to anyone in particular but I think we all need to be a little more polite and friendly in our disagreements. I know this is not an easy topic and that we all have strong feelings on this issue; however, we are all still the children of the King and brothers and sisters in Christ. We all want to be good wittnesses and shepards of the Truth! Lets remember that and act accordingly. God bless you all! :gopray2:

Marriage is based on a religious belief and shouldn’t be perverted to serve something barbaric like homosexuality in any degree. And I don’t think Homosexuality should be tolerated in any society and it wasn’t tolerated in the Old Testament. But at the same time there isn’t much that can be done to prevent it.

Some states still have adultry laws on their books… are they enforced?
Eagle, Idaho, I believe, has a law against fornication on their books. When a teenage unwed girl applied for state welfare because she became pregnant, they arrested her for fornication. I think she received a fine.

Yes. Her immorality hurts society (and increases taxpayer burden).

To the extent that homosexual sex is a “high risk” activity it is also a harm to society. See here: catholiceducation.org/articles/homosexuality/ho0075.html

Don’t pretent that we aren’t already paying for it as a society.

Adultery and homosexual sex remain against the law according to the UCMJ. Yet, last year, the US Supreme Court ruled: “Held: The Texas statute making it a crime for two persons of the same sex to engage in certain intimate sexual conduct violates the Due Process Clause.”

It’ll be interesting to see how this will affect the UCMJ. Canada already allows homosexuals in their military. In fact, the Govn’t of Canada paid for a sex change for one of their military members. My Canadian co-workers at NORAD have difficulty believing how terribly bizarre their liberal goverment has become.
